To boost generation capacity of the Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DORECO
LGS Renewable Energies Corporation, the first ever renewable energy company to put up a plant in Davao Oriental, held its groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, 9 December 2020, in Purok 4 – Barangay Sergio Osmena in the Municipality of Governor Generoso.
The company will soon construct the 1MW Osmena Hydroelectric Power Plant in the area that will ramp up the generation capacity of the Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DORECO) in anticipation of increasing power supply and demand in the coming years.
“Let us be part of history by supporting this project of the LGS Renewable Energies Corporation, the first ever clean energy in the province,” Chief Executive Officer of DORECO Gregory A. Dukil said in his message during the program.
On the same note, municipal Vice Mayor Vicente D. Orencia pledged support to the project on behalf of the LGU “because this will help stabilize the voltage of electricity in our municipality and looks forward in partnering with LGS in developing our forest resources.”
In attendance at the event were DORECO and the LGU officials, Fr. Mario Jimenez, parish priest of St. Francis Xavier of Gov. Generoso, the Department of Energy (DOE) Mindanao Field Office represented by Rolando Fara-on, Indigenous Peoples Tribal Chieftain Cherry Baldago, Barangay Captain Reynaldo Jabines and LGS President Jose Simeon S. Gonzalez and Assistant Vice President for Project Development Earle D. Ferrer, Jr.
Mr. Gonzalez reported that the parent company of LGS, Coastland Construction Development Corporation, “has helped the province build roads and bridges for the last thirty (30) years.
This time we would like to help in the development of clean, stable supply of electricity to boost the tourism industry of the province.”
LGS Renewable Energies Corporation is a Filipino-owned power generating company. Its parent companies, the Ulticon Builders, Inc. and the Coastland Construction Development Corporation, are engaged in the construction business for many years now with proven integrity and track record in the industry.
