Lawyer Rene Alexis Villarente, a candidate for chairman for Barangay Talomo Proper in the coming baragay election in October, is a saving grace to several families facing demolition in a contested lot they called home for decades.

Re-electionist barangay captain Benhor Calamba, Villarente’s nemesis in a one-on-one fight, reportedly is siding with the alleged owner of the property. Calamba reportedly brokered a dialog between the alleged of the owner and his lawyer and the occupants over the demolition of the settlers.

Villarente opposed the demolition and the dialog, until the alleged owner and his lawyer present a court order to demolish.

Villarente reportedly already won a court case for the settlers many years when he acted as lawyer motu proprio for the occupants.

MARAWI MUSEUM. In commemoration of the International Day of Museums, Task Force Bangon Marawi Chairman Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario and Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra on Thursday lead the inauguration of the Marawi Museum right inside the ground zero.

The museum is the first-ever to be openned by the Marawi LGU.
