Opposition candidates Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III have filed their bids for president and vice president, respectively.
The tandem filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) at the Sofitel Harbor Garden Tent in Pasay City on Wednesday., October 6
In an interview, Lacson said their tandem aims to reinstate the trust of the people in the government.
“Ability, Honesty, and Courage. The Lacson-Sotto tandem aims to restore the people’s trust in our government,” he added.
Lacson is running under the Partido para sa Demokratikong Reporma (PDR), while Sotto is representing the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
Norberto Gonzales also filed on the same day his candidacy for president. He served as National Security Adviser and Department of National Defense chief during the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The race to Malacanang in the 2022 election is getting crowded as Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso was set today, Wednesday, September 22, to announce his presidential candidacy.
Isko is the third candidate to formally declare their bids after Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
Moreno, in recent pre-poll surveys, was the top 2 choice to become the next highest leader of the country, trailing President Rodrido Duterte’s daughter, incumbent Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who has not yet announced her 2022 political plans.
