88% public satisfaction rating
The Davao City Water District (DCWD) received a high approval rating from a Customer Satisfaction Survey recently undertaken by an independent consulting firm.
DCWD spokesperson Imelda Magsuci reported that the DCWD enjoyed an approval rating of 87.9 percent in a survey implemented by Orient Integrated Development Consultants, Inc.
Orient Assistant Vice President Jocelyn Cabo added in a statement that “85.3 percent of the households in the City enjoy 24-hour water availability.
The survey also revealed that the quality of water such as the taste, clarity, and odor also has a high approval rating.
“No less than 93 percent of the households rated the water quality as either excellent or good,” Cabo said. Water quality, according to her, is a determinant of whether the household drinks the water or not.
Ninety percent of the households say that they drink water straight from the tap, according to the survey.
The DCWD has the lowest minimum rate for the entire island, according to the Mindanao Association of Water Districts. It has a minimum charge of P104.00 for every ten cubic meters of consumption, which is far below the rates of other water districts that tap surface water. (Edmerson Sola)
