Sir Boni’s contribution to the teachers’ movement in Southern Mindanao was more than enough for him to be awarded the Guro ng Bayan trophy from the Alliance of Concerned Teachers during its 30th National Council meeting and General Assembly.
Sir Boni invested his personal time and resources to travel the different provinces of Region XI to help organize DepED teachers. At one point, Sir Boni even filed a leave for several months to devote more time to this worthy endeavor.
He continued serving the teachers and the people even after his retirement despite continued threats and accusations from the AFP and PNP that he was a member of the New People’s Army.
Sir Boni, your life and contributions will be forever remembered and missed! May the younger generation of teachers follow your selfless and brave example!
