Political party backing Bong Go not threatened by 'Uniteam' coalition

The Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), dismissed rumors that Senator Bong Go, its presidential bet in the 2022 elections will soon back out of the race to Malacanang.

Grepor Belgica, PDDS national adviser, said Go is not withdrawing and is gearing up for battle even if the senator hinted about it in recent days.

“He is preparing for his campaign, talking to people, pushing his advocacy about healthcare and everything,” Belgica said on Friday, November 26,

Belgica also dismissed the firepower of Go’s opponent, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. who has teamed up with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as his vice president .under the Lakas-CMD party.


Earlier on November 24, Wednesday, Melvin Matibag, secretary general of PDP-Laban chaired by President Rodrigo Duterte that is pushng Go’s presidential run, also denied that the senator is backing out of the race.

PDP-LABAN: Bong Go will not back out from race to Malacañang

SENATOR Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who is running for president in next year’s election, is not backing out of the race to Malacanang in 2022, said Go’s party, the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

Go is the choice of President Rodrigo Duterte, PDP-Laban chairman, to succeed him after his term expires in 2022.

Go, a member of the PDP-Laban, told reporters on Nov. 24, 2021, that he is waiting for a sign from God whether to pursue his candidacy after saying he still cannot believe that he is running for the presidency.

Matibag said Go, who filed his candidacy under the political party Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), was just being honest when he made those statements.

“Alam mo, Senator Bong Go is very honest, pero hindi magwi-withdraw ‘yan (but he not going to withdraw. Matibag said.

Proof of Go’s pressidential bid being alive is his most recent meeting with governors and other local officials, according to Matibag.

As a matter of fact, nag-meeting nga sila sa Malacañang on November 24 at naroon ang mga governors, more than 50 of them, and they are all supporting Senator Bong Go, Matibag said.
