DAVAO DEL NORTE: Santo Tomas holds livelihood orientation for 148 DoLE-TUPAD beneficiaries

To provide employment and income opportunities to all Tomasinos, 148 residents from various barangays have attended the one-day orientation of the of Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program conducted by the Santo Tomas LGU’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

The 148 beneficiaries were residents from Barangay Pantaron, New Katipunan, San Miguel, San Jose, Bobongon, Balagunan, Lunga-og, Kinamayan, Kimamon and Casig-ang.

Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña said the Evangelista administration’s “Aksyon Sa Kabuhayan” program is part of the Santo Tomas LGU’s recovery and rehabilitation efforts particularly to those who have lost their livelihoods.

“Kining ‘Aksyon Sa Kabuhayan’ program , mao kini ang muhatag og opportunities sa atong mga Tomasino na mo-engage sila sa Santo Tomas LGU pinaagi sa skills training for self-employment or skills training for wage employment. Ginabuhat nato kini para daghang Tomasino ang mahatagan nato og serbisyo ug matabangan kay ang atong Santo Tomas LGU dili insensitive, dili bungol, sa mga sentimyento sa katawhang Tomasino,” Lapiña said.
