DAVAO DEL NORTE: Kiwanis holds pantry for Sto. Tomas town Ata-Manobo community

The Philippine South District Division 7 of Kiwanis International (Davao del Norte) in tandem with the Sto. Tomas municipality held on June 19, a community pantry for the indigenous people’s Ata-Manobo tribe.

The pantry organized by a team led by Ms. Lorna Lui-Go, RN of Philippine South District Division 7 of Kiwanis International, with Kwn. Jennie Gaum and Kwn. Mary Joy Redulosa distributed assorted fruits, face masks, alcohols, and other hygiene kits to the Ata-Manobo community led by Datu Doming Tumaytay, the tribal chieftain and the Indigenous People’s Mandatory Representative (IPMR) to the Sto. Tomas municipal council.

Mayor Ernesto Evangelista and the Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapina thanked Kiwanis International and all the partner agencies for the support in all the projects being undertaken by the Evangelista administration especially for the Ata-Manobo community in Sitio Talos, Barangay San Jose.

Sto. Tomas LGU, Kiwanis, AFP to build children’s playground

The Kiwanis community pantry was a side event of the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the Talos Elementary School Playground, a joint project of the Kiwanis, Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Sto.Tomas local government, in Sitio Talos, Barangay San Jose.

Mayor Evangelista together with Lorna Lui-Go and her team, Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapina, 2nd Cavalry Company (Separate) Armor Division Phil Army, 7th Air Reserve Center, Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao, Tactical Operations Group 11, and 89th IB Makatao Battalion headed by Battalion Commander LTC Donald Gaffud led the groundbreaking ceremony.
