Sto. Tomas Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapina emphasized the importance of corrupt-free governance on the delivery of effective health care services.
“Good governance facilitates better allocation and efficient use of available resources including better and effective targeting of priority population groups for intervention.,” Lapina said at the turn-over of Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) purchased by the Sto. Tomas government for Barangay Kimamon.
In keeping true to its mandate to improve the quality of life and its desire to bring public health services faster to the residents of Barangay Kimamon under the leadership of Hon. Deofel Rollan, the Municipal Government of Santo Tomas under the helm of Mayor Ernesto Evangelista purchased the brand new PTV to accommodate and enhance the delivery of emergency health services in Barangay Kimamon.
The purchase of the ambulance was realized through a counter-parting scheme in a bid to improve the barangay’s emergency medical response system.
The PTV would complement the services being provided by the Barangay Kimamon Safe Birthing Facility and Barangay Health Center funded by the Department of Health (DOH) under the “Aksyon Sa Kalusugan” program and was built under the Evangelista administration.
According to Evangelista, the brand new PTV is expected to efficiently help Barangay Kimamon in terms of transporting the patient from the incident site to the emergency room of the receiving hospital for definitive care, transferring the patient to another hospital for further diagnosis and treatment purpose, rendering emergency medical care and life support to sustain the stability of the patient in transit to and from the hospital.
Evangelista added that the brand new PTV is equipped with life saving equipment such as an oxygen tank, first aid kit, wall mount blood pressure apparatus, ambubag for adult and pedia, minor surgical kit, stethoscope, spine board with bracket, among others.
