“We will not interfere in Secretary Teddy Locsin’s right to free speech,” said presidential spokesman Harry Roque to indicate that Malacañang approved of the country’s top diplomat dishing out a “fuck you!” at China for encroaching into the Philippine sovereign territory of the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
“GET THE FUCK OUT!”, said in part the tweet on Twitter posted on Monday by Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. , as he called on China to pull out its vessels from the WPS.
The tweet is the latest blast hurled by Locsin, who has filed several diplomatic protests and has engaged China in a verbal war as Chinese militia and fishing vessels continue to swarm the WPS, acknowledged as Philippine territory by a 2016 ruling of The Hague-based Permanent Court of Arbitration.
“China, my friend, how politely can I put it? Let me see … O … GET THE FUCK OUT.” Locsin Jr. said in the tweet on his personal account.
“What are you doing to our friendship? You. Not us. We’re trying. You. You’re like an ugly oaf forcing your attentions on a handsome guy who wants to be a friend; not to father a Chinese province…,” Locsin’s tweet added.
But Roque said President Rodrigo Duterte has a different style in dealing with the Chinese over the WPS and China’s encroachment into Philippine territory.
Roque said that the President’s policy would always be “careful, calculated, calibrated,” with Manila maintaining good relations with Beijing but never renouncing Philippine claims and giving up its rights in the WPS.
