After DUCAY (Duterte-Cayetano) and ALDUB (Alyansa Duterte-Bongbong),  a new group has been formed in Davao pushing a tandem of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for President and Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero for Vice President.

The group, DUCHIZ  (Duterte-Chiz), is a coalition of swing voters, anti-Marcos militants and other groupings said a source, a convenor of the group who asked that he not be named at the meanwhile.

We are already at work, said the source, who adds that DUCHIZ was launched recently during an organizational meeting. He said DUCHIZ chapters are now being organized nation-wide.

DUCAY is a group formed by supporters of Senator Peter Allan Cayetano, the running mate of Duterte, standard bearer of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino/Laban (PDP/Laban).

Not to be left out, supporters of Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, the vice president of Senator Miriam Santiago of the People’s Reform Paery (PRP), formed ALDUB to push the tandem with Duterte.

The source said anti-Marcos militant groups have joined DUCHIZ, to stop Senator Marcos from becoming vice president.

As of now, top politicians in Davao City are riding on separate horses in the vice presidential derby.

Duterte, now leading in all surveys for presidential preference, is non-stop in his support for Cayetano in their DUCAY team-up.

Former House Speaker Prospero Nograles, who has ended his 20-year political rift with long-time foe Duterte,  is supporting the mayor, but behind the ALDUB tandem pushing the vice presidential bid of Marcos.

Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, son of the mayor, is supporting Escudero. The source said they expect the vice mayor to join DUCHIZ as he has already publicly announced that he is for his long-time friend in the vice presidential race.

In the latest ABS/CBN-Pulse Asia survey, Marcos was in the lead with Escudero at second spot behind  by only  4 percentage points. Cayetano is at fourth place behind Leni Robredo, running mate of Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas.
