Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said if he becomes President, he could never be charged with graft or plunder after he vows out of office.
Maybe murder, said Duterte on television on Sunday.
I will never steal but funeral parlors will have to expand their franchize, he said in the April 19 edition of his television program Gikan sa Masa Para sa Masa on ABS/CBN Davao.
He hinted of massive nationwide campaign against criminals and large-scale murder if he is in Malacanang.
Duterte has said he is not interested in the presidency but latest surveys on presidential preference placed him at No. 3 behind front runner Vice President Jejomar Binay and Senator Grace Poe.
Analysts say Duterte is picking up points for his strong anti-corruption stand and iron-fist anti-criminality campaign in Davao City.
Earlier he said if he is the President he would declare a revolutionary government and shut down Congress and send to jail corrupt legislators.
Criminals would fatten fishes in the oceans, he said also earlier in another morbid scenario of his peace and order campaign.
Duterte is well known for his iron-fist campaign in Davao City where hundreds of suspected criminals were terminated allegedly by the Davao Death Squad (DDS).
The Commission on Human Rights has investigated Duterte for his links to the extrajudicial killings and the DDS.
Duterte has remained a reluctant candidate.
Once his daughter Sara “Inday” Duterte-Carpio agrees to run for mayor in 2016, “ I will retire from politics,” said Duterte in the television program hosted by lawyer Geraldine Tiu. He said son Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte would have his turn at the mayoral seat later.
