The government’s anti-graft agency has given the Davao City government a ‘satisfactory’ grade in its fight against bureaucratic corruption.
City Administrator Melchor Quitain said the “satisfactory performance” rating from the Office of the Ombudsman-Mindanao indicated City Hall’s effective anti-corruption campaign and delivery of public service. under Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
The city government’s performance was contained in a 2014 year-ender report by the Ombudsman.
Quitain said the city government was cited for its quick response to reports of corruption and innovations in processing and approval of permits.
Quitain said the rating was based on a red tape assessment conducted by the Ombudsman Investment Team on City Hall departments.
