Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is seen by top presidential bet Vice President Jejomar Binay as a qualified candidate he would like to meet in the 2016 election.
Binay of the opposition United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of former President now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada said he welcomes a face-off with Duterte in the presidential derby.
“Mayor Duterte is very qualified,” Binay said. “People will have more choices.”
Binay has topped surveys against administration Liberal Party presidential bet Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and other potential candidates.
The equation however has changed as Duterte barged into the picture as another potential candidate to replace President Benigno Aquino.
