FVR agrees to a Mindanaoan as next President

DAVAO CITY, Oct. 24 (PNA) — Former President Fidel Ramos had a closed-door ramos-620x320meeting with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday night hours after he told reporters he agrees to a Mindanaoan to become the country’s next president.
Ramos was in Davao City to keynote the ceremonial opening of the four-day 2nd BIMP EAGA IMT-GT Business Leaders Conference Trade Fair opening at SMX Convention Center.
“Mindanao deserves it,” Ramos said when asked by media on his comment regarding a Mindanaoan to become president.
rody fvrThe media query did not mention who that Mindanaon president is, but Ramos was quick to say, “I know what you mean.”
“Even if I am from Luzon, I have always wanted to identify myself with the Mindanaoans. Mindanao deserves it,” he said.
In the evening of the same day, Ramos and Duterte had a closed door meeting at The Marco Polo, Davao.
After their meeting, a bunch of reporters asked Ramos regarding Duterte’s possible presidential bid in the 2016 elections. Ramos remained indirect to his answer similar to his response.
“The best is yet to come. Now is the time to have a president from Mindanao,” he said.
The Ramos-Duterte closed-door meeting lasted for an hour.
However, Duterte denied they talked about politics. (PNA)
