Ibuyan wants probe into P2.9M Indak-Indak budget

Ibuyan, event director of the street dancing contest, said that members of the committee he did not name withdrew cash advances from the Indak-Indak budget without his approval.

He also said the committee took out the fund from a prepared P2.98 million budget that he did not approve.

But festival spokesman Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre dismissed Ibuyan’s lament saying the councilor never brought up the issue before the Kadayawan Executive Committee. Nevertheless, Alejamdre said the matter would be discussed when the execom meets.

Ibuyan said he wants people behind the Indak-Indak committee removed in the next Kadayawan outing.

They manipulated release of the fund, said Ibuyan.

  Among other anomalies, Ibuyan said the committee members delayed the payment of honorarium for the event marshals and hired themselves as judges in the street dancing contest.

But festival spokesman Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre dismissed Ibuyan’s lament saying the councilor never brought up the issue before the Kadayawan Executive Committee. Nevertheless, Alejamdre said the matter would be discussed when the execom meets.

I only learned about this from the media, he said. Ibuyan should have told his problems to me, being the festival spokesman.

Davao City celebrated Kadayawan 2014 from August 11 to 17.

Indak-Indak (Aug. 16) and the Pamulak/Floral Float Parade (Aug.17) are the main highligths of the annual festival.
