Going to private life after his term ends in 2016 is not in the book of Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario.
The 80-year old Del Rosario is rumored to be eyeing the post of mayor either in the Island Garden City of Samal or Tagum City.
In the Tagum City mayoral derby, he could clash with come-backing former mayor Rey Uy. In Igacos City, Del Rosario was expected to battle it out with former mayor Roger Antalan, whose brother Mayor Aniano Antalan is ending his last term.
But the last-termer Del Rosario has dropped two conditions for him to consider running for a new post in the 2016 election.
First, if the people still want him to be their leader, and second, if he still has good health by then.
“Let the will of the people take care of itself. I think we will know by then, although I have no intention of not seeking any elective position,” Del Rosario said.
“We will never know. It depends on the condition of my health. I will let you know in due time. The election is still 18 months away,” he added.
